Dr. Maribel Martinez-Mejia
Director of Emergency Preparedness
Dr. Maribel Martinez-Mejia has over 17 years of experience in Emergency Management and has coordinated response for numerous incidents including severe weather, tornadic, wildfires, and winter storm declared disasters, large scale special events, and COVID operations to include hospital/mass fatality coordination, COVID mass testing, and mass vaccination operations. She is currently the Director of Emergency Preparedness for the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) where she works with professional emergency managers to enhance the protection and resiliency from natural disasters and terroristic events.
Dr. Martinez-Mejia is an International Association of Emergency Managers Certified Emergency Manager. Before working with the NCTCOG, Dr. Martinez-Mejia was the Emergency Management Coordinator for the 12th largest city in the US – the city of Fort Worth. She has also worked with the Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) Pantex Emergency Management and was the Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator for the Amarillo/Potter/Randall Office of Emergency Management.
