Chenhui Li is an Epidemiologist at the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. She earned her Ph.D. in Plant and Soil Science from Texas Tech University in 2017, refining her data analysis skills. Beginning her public health career in 2021 as a research scientist at the University of Missouri, she worked on Missouri’s COVID-19 Sewershed Surveillance Project. At MU, her research on population normalization for wastewater surveillance led her to propose caffeine’s metabolite, paraxanthine, as a superior biomarker. Now at DHSS, she analyzes wastewater data and builds dashboards, driven by her passion for science and commitment to community well-being.
